Solvay SA provides basic and performance chemicals worldwide. The company engages in the production of sodium carbonate or soda ash that is used in glass for building, solar panels, glass containers, packaging, lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, and for detergents and chemicals; and sodium bicarbonate that serves food and animal feed, flue gas treatment, and healthcare. It also offers hydrogen peroxide that is used for bleaching, decontamination, disinfection, and antiseptic purposes in industries, including pulp and paper, textile, water, and food, as well as well as in semiconductors, photovoltaic, urban mining, and battery sectors; and serves as an intermediate to produce chemicals, such as propylene oxide and caprolactam.
