Alta Copper Insider Buyers Net US$120k Despite 13% Stock Decline

Alta Copper Corp. (TSE:ATCU) insiders who acquired shares over the previous 12 months, can probably afford to ignore the recent 13% decline in the stock price. Reason being, despite the recent loss, insiders original purchase value of US$291.5k is now worth US$412.0k.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The CEO, President & Director Giulio Bonifacio made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for CA$80k worth of shares at a price of CA$0.41 each. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of CA$0.59. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.
