Newcore Gold Reports Additional Drilling Results At the Enchi Gold Project in Ghana
Newcore Gold Ltd. announced additional drill results from the 80,000-metre drill program underway at the Company’s Enchi Gold Project in Ghana. Diamond Drilling at the Nyam Gold Deposit encountered high-grade gold mineralization in the upper fresh mineralization, below the limits of the pits that constrain the Mineral Reserves. Hole NBDD086 intersected 3.51 grams per tonne gold over 21.0 metres from 245 metres, including 5.91 grams per tonne gold over 9.0 metres from 251 metres. Hole NBDD085 intersected 1.61 grams per tonne gold over 14.0 metres from 278 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 2.94 grams per tonne gold over 7.0 metres from 284 metres. Hole NBDD080 intersected 1.40 grams per tonne gold over 21.0 metres from 317 metres, including 2.08 grams per tonne gold over 11.0 metres from 319 metres. Hole NBDD081 intersected 0.98 grams per tonne gold over 28.0 metres from 254 metres, including 1.61 grams per tonne gold over 8.0 metres from 258 metres and 2.19 grams per tonne gold over 5.0 metres from 277 metres. Drilling reported in this news release targeted mineralization to depth and reached a maximum vertical depth of 300 metres. The average vertical depth of all holes drilled to date at Nyam is only down to 100 metres. All deposits at Enchi remain open for expansion along strike and to depth. This release reports results for 11 Diamond Drill holes totalling 4,123 metres (NBDD070 to NBDD072B, NBDD079A to NBDD086) targeting the Nyam Gold Deposit, with all holes intersecting gold mineralization. A total of 44,651 metres in 283 holes has been reported to date as part of the ongoing drill program at Enchi, with 99% of holes intersecting gold mineralization. Select assay results from the 11 holes of the drill program reported in this release are below: NBDD086, Nyam, from 245.0 metres to 266.0 metres, length 21.0 metres, 3.51 grams per tonne gold; including 251.0 metres to 260.0 metres, length 9.0 metres, 5.91 grams per tonne gold. NBDD080, Nyam, from 317.0 metres to 338.0 metres, length 21.0 metres, 1.40 grams per tonne gold; including 319.0 metres to 330.0 metres, length 11.0 metres, 2.08 grams per tonne gold. NBDD081, Nyam, from 254.0 metres to 282.0 metres, length 28.0 metres, 0.98 grams per tonne gold; including 258.0 metres to 266.0 metres, length 8.0 metres, 1.61 grams per tonne gold; including 277.0 metres to 282.0 metres, length 5.0 metres, 2.19 grams per tonne gold. NBDD085, Nyam, from 278.0 metres to 292.0 metres, length 14.0 metres, 1.61 grams per tonne gold; including 284.0 metres to 291.0 metres, length 7.0 metres, 2.94 grams per tonne gold. Intervals reported are hole lengths with true width estimated to be 75 - 85%. Length-weighted averages from uncut assays. NBDD070 to NBDD072B and NBDD079A to NBDD086 (11 Diamond Drill holes totalling 4,123 metres) were completed at Nyam, targeting high-grade mineralization within the fresh mineral horizon. The goal of this drilling was to continue to expand high-grade mineralization at depth. The 11 holes tested multiple high-grade shoots at depth which were previously identified through drilling. This drilling included some of the deepest holes completed to date at Nyam, reaching a maximum vertical depth of 300 metres, intersecting mineralization below prior intercepts and defining the continuity of gold mineralization to depth. The holes reported in this news release were distributed across 9 separate sections spread along a 1.2 kilometre strike length. Four diamond drill holes totalling 1,573 metres (NBDD080, NBDD081, NBDD085, NBDD086) targeted extensions to a southern high-grade shoot identified at Nyam. Hole NBDD086 intersected 3.51 grams per tonne gold over 21.0 metres from 245 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 5.91 grams per tonne gold over 9.0 metres from 251 metres. Hole NBDD085, drilled on the same section, intersected 1.61 grams per tonne gold over 14.0 metres from 278 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 2.94 grams per tonne gold over 7.0 metres from 284 metres. Hole NBDD080 intersected several gold zones including a broad high-grade gold mineralized structure with 1.40 grams per tonne gold over 21.0 metres from 317 metres, including 2.08 grams per tonne gold over 11.0 metres from 319 metres, and a second zone with 2.18 grams per tonne gold over 6.0 metres from 354 metres. Hole NBDD081, collared 200 metres south of NBDD080, intersected 0.98 grams per tonne gold over 28.0 metres from 254 metres, including 1.61 grams per tonne gold over 8.0 metres from 258 metres and 2.19 grams per tonne gold over 5.0 metres from 277 metres. Five diamond drill holes totalling 2,031 metres (NBDD070 to NBDD072B, NBDD079A, NBDD082) targeted a central high-grade shoot identified at Nyam, with drilling intersecting mineralization above the current resource grade. Hole NBDD071 intersected multiple gold mineralized structures including 0.50 grams per tonne gold over 37.5 metres from 224 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 1.18 grams per tonne gold over 3.0 metres from 226 metres; a second interval of 0.79 grams per tonne gold over 11.0 metres from 283 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 1.51 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres from 283 metres; and a third interval of 0.96 grams per tonne gold over 11.0 metres from 327 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 1.67 grams per tonne gold over 5.0 metres from 327 metres. Hole NBDD070, collared 100 metres north of NBDD071, intersected 0.46 grams per tonne gold over 23.0 metres from 284.5 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 1.77 grams per tonne gold over 1.0 metre from 292 metres and 1.37 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres from 299 metres. Hole NBDD079A, collared 80 metres north of NBDD071, intersected 0.68 grams per tonne gold over 10.8 metres from 299.6 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 1.47 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres from 304.9 metres. Hole NBDD072B, collared 140 metres north of NBDD071, intersected multiple gold mineralized zones including 0.82 grams per tonne gold over 5.0 metres from 172 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 3.14 grams per tonne gold over 1.0 metre from 176 metres; a second zone of 0.55 grams per tonne gold over 5.0 metres from 239 metres; and a third zone of 1.23 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres from 280 metres. Two diamond drill holes totalling 520 metres (NBDD083, NBDD084) targeted a prospective area at Nyam where an additional high-grade shoot has potentially been identified to the north. Hole NBDD084 is one of the first deeper holes completed in that area and returned a higher-grade interval of 1.20 grams per tonne gold over 3.0 metres from 120 metres. Diamond drilling completed at Nyam continues to intersect mineralization above the resource grade and continues to confirm continuity along strike and down dip, extending the principal structures which comprise the Nyam Gold Deposit. An 80,000 metre drill program is underway at Enchi.
