SoftBank Corp., together with its subsidiaries, provides mobile communications and fixed-line telecommunications and ISP services in Japan. It operates through five segments: Consumer, Enterprise, Distribution, Media & EC, and Financial. The Consumer segment offers mobile services; sells mobile devices; provides internet broadband services under the SoftBank Hikari brand; sells and rents related equipment for broadband services; trades in and supplies electric power; and offers electric power trading agency services. The Enterprise segment provides mobile lines and mobile device rental; mobile services; fixed-line communications services, such as data communications and fixed-line telephone services; cloud, data center, security, global, AI/IoT, digital marketing, and other solution services; software-defined connected vehicles solutions; cloud, security operation monitoring, and IoT solutions; Linux/OSS; and authentication and security services. The Distribution segment offers cloud services, IoT solutions, and other services for enterprise customers; and mobile and PC peripherals, including accessories, as well as software, IoT products, and other items. The Media & EC segment provides media-related services, such as media and advertising, search, marketing solutions, vertical, content, and stamps; commerce-related services, including shopping services; reuse services; O2O services; and AI, healthcare, and other services. The Financial segment offers mobile payments and other electronic payment services; payment processing services comprising credit cards, electronic money, and QR codes; and online securities trading service for smartphones. The company also engages in the planning and production of digital media and content. The company was formerly known as SoftBank Mobile Corp. and changed its name to SoftBank Corp. in May 2015. SoftBank Corp. was incorporated in 1986 and is based in Tokyo, Japan.
