Second quarter 2026 earnings: EPS and revenues exceed analyst expectations Second quarter 2026 results: EPS: JP¥178 (up from JP¥66.46 loss in 2Q 2025). Revenue: JP¥129.4b (up 4.5% from 2Q 2025). Net income: JP¥15.1b (up JP¥21.0b from 2Q 2025). Profit margin: 12% (up from net loss in 2Q 2025). The move to profitability was primarily driven by lower expenses. Revenue exceeded analyst estimates by 4.4%. Earnings per share (EPS) also surpassed analyst estimates by 16%. Revenue is forecast to grow 5.2% p.a. on average during the next 3 years, compared to a 4.4% growth forecast for the Leisure industry in Japan. Over the last 3 years on average, earnings per share has fallen by 23% per year but the company’s share price has only fallen by 1% per year, which means it has not declined as severely as earnings. Shimano Inc. Revises Consolidated Earnings Guidance for the Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2026 Shimano Inc. revised consolidated earnings guidance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026. For the Fiscal Year, the company now expects net sales of JPY 491,000 million; Operating income of JPY 47,000 million; Net income attributable to owners of parent of JPY 43,000 million and Basic earnings per share of JPY 505.94 per share as compared to net sales of JPY 467,000 million; Operating income of JPY 47,000 million; Net income attributable to owners of parent of JPY 42,000 million and Basic earnings per share of JPY 488.19 per share in the previous guidance. These forecasts take into account that adjustments of market inventories are progressing as expected, the impact of exchange rates on net sales and income following the depreciation of the yen and the appreciation of other Asian currencies, and the impact of factors including soaring crude oil prices due to the crisis in the Middle East. In addition, in light of increases in non-operating income such as valuation gains on foreign exchange in the first half of fiscal year 2026, they have also revised forecasts for ordinary income and net income attributable to owners of parent.
