Nintendo Direct Reveals Metroid Ravenous, Kirby and the World Beyond, and More Games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

From all-new adventures and expanded experiences to fan-favorite franchises and surprise announcements, today’s Nintendo Direct showcased a diverse lineup of games and content coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems, offering players plenty to look forward to. Fans got their first look at brand-new games featuring two iconic Nintendo heroes: Samus Aran in Metroid Ravenous, an intense new 2D action adventure, and Kirby’s journey through the expansive 3D landscapes of Kirby and the World Beyond, both coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2. The presentation also revealed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition and Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, bringing new features to both games; new gameplay footage and information for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition; new content for Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, Mario Kart World and Star Fox; and the addition of Star Fox Adventures to the Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics library later today. Players can also look forward to new entries from some of gaming’s most beloved franchises, whether at home or on the go. Highlights included a modern reimagining of Lara Croft’s original 1996 adventure in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis; the monster-slaying thrills of Monster Hunter Wilds; the electrifying climax to an epic trilogy with Final Fantasy VII Revelation; the long-awaited Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival; the creative hide-and-seek hilarity of MECCHA CHAMELEON; three survival horror classics with Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition; and the return of a Capcom hero and his familiar ally in Mega Man: Dual Override. As Zack teams up with Sephiroth to investigate the disappearance of a fellow SOLDIER, he uncovers dark secrets that challenge everything he believes, forcing him to forge his own path as a hero to protect the ones he loves. Available later today on Nintendo Switch 2 with a complete HD graphics overhaul of the character models, UI and background, fully voiced dialogue in English and Japanese, an updated action combat system and a newly arranged soundtrack by original composer Takeharu Ishimoto. Danganronpa 2x2:A new murderous game begins in this latest entry in the Danganronpa series. Featuring a visually enhanced version of the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair scenario alongside a brand-new story with the same setting and characters, players will investigate an entirely new set of victims, culprits and tricks. Reveal the truth by exposing contradictions during high-speed Class Trials and uncover the culprit behind each case when Danganronpa 2x2 launches for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on Jan. 14, 2027. Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea: Journey beneath the waves in the newest Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion1, arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this November. The Starter Edition of the game includes Mikey and Draken from the Tokyo Revengers anime as playable guest characters, plus all previously released DLC fighters. FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves launches digitally on Oct. 22. Pre-orders begin later today and include a bonus alternate costume for Mai Shiranui. A physical version will launch in January 2027. Final Fantasy VII Revelation:The third and final entry in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. As Sephiroth moves closer to achieving godhood, Cloud and his companions take to the skies aboard the airship Highwind in a race to stop Meteor, the ultimate destructive magic, and save the planet. Players will explore a vast world, take on powerful enemies and experience the culmination of 30 years of FINAL FANTASY VII storytelling when Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027.
