Smith from Neutral to Underweight, citing lowered guidance and a weaker outlook tied to its China operations. The bank now expects A. O. Smith’s China business to see a 15% sequential decline in Q2, after previously anticipating a second-half recovery. Analysts pointed to ongoing risks in China’s residential market and suggested that a potential exit from China could eventually act as a positive catalyst. The key issue right now is the reset in expectations around China, which shifts the near-term narrative toward earnings risk and away from any quick rebound in that market. If you follow A. O. Smith, it is worth paying close attention to management’s comments on China exposure, contingency plans for that business, and how any change in footprint might affect margins and growth priorities over time.ナラティブの更新 • May 05AOS: Share Repurchases And Incremental Guidance Will Support Future Upside PotentialAnalysts reduced the consolidated price target on A. ライブニュース • May 16JPMorgan Downgrades AO Smith on Weaker China Outlook and Lowered GuidanceJPMorgan downgraded A. O. O. Smith, it is worth paying close attention to management’s comments on China exposure, contingency plans for that business, and how any change in footprint might affect margins and growth priorities over time.
