Fusion Fuel enters €2M technology sale pact with KEME Energy for green hydrogen project in Portugal

Fusion Fuel (NASDAQ:HTOO) has entered into a technology sale pact with KEME Energy to supply its solar-to-hydrogen system for a 1.22 MW green hydrogen project located in Sines, Portugal. The two companies had previously announced the execution of a collaboration pact this past February. The project secured a €2.4M grant from Portugal’s POSEUR programme in late 2021, will be developed in ZILS, the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone, and will consist of 62 HEVO-Solar trackers that will generate an estimated 77 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum. The hydrogen produced is expected to help meet local demand from customers in the nascent hydrogen mobility sector. Fusion Fuel expects to commence construction of the facility early next year and achieve commercial operation in the second half of 2023.

Fusion Fuel to supply solar-to-hydrogen systems for Gedisol green hydrogen project

Fusion Fuel (NASDAQ:HTOO) has entered into a technology sale agreement with Spanish developer Gedisol. Under the €5M contract, Fusion Fuel (HTOO) will supply its solar-to-hydrogen systems for a 3.2 MW green hydrogen project located in Andalucía, Spain. The facility will consist of 144 HEVO-Solar trackers that will generate an estimated 200 tons of green hydrogen per annum. The company expects to begin construction in early 2023and achieve commercial operation in Q3/2023.

Fusion Fuel to receive €10M grant for HEVO-Industria project

Fusion Fuel (NASDAQ:HTOO) has received approval for funding support to develop its 6.6MW HEVO-Industria green hydrogen project in Sines, Portugal. The €10M grant comes as part of Component 14 (C-14) of the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan and marks the largest single-project grant awarded in the application.  C-14 is focused on accelerating the energy transition by supporting the production of hydrogen and other renewable gases. The HEVO-Industria project will consist of 300 HEVO-Solar units along with a hydrogen refueling station and associated balance of plant to support local industry. The facility, equipped with Fusion Fuel’s HEVO-Night solution, will produce an estimated 764 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum that is expected to be used for mobility and industrial applications in Sines or blended in the natural gas grid. The project is take FID in the first half of 2023 and require €25M of capital investment.

Fusion Fuel Well-Positioned For EU Adoption Of Green Hydrogen

As the EU moves to rid itself of reliance on Russian energy, it is increasingly betting on renewables. Conversion of renewables to hydrogen is seen as an energy storage solution. Fusion Fuel currently produces green hydrogen from solar power. Minimal production is set to be ramped up in the coming years. It also sells the technology to other firms. The emerging green hydrogen industry is set to benefit from massive EU funds, as well as political support. Risks include being out-competed by cheaper hydrocarbons-derived hydrogen, as well as competing green technologies, including wind-powered electrolysis projects.
