Announces Data Highlighting Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation (Nvns) for Treatment of Symptoms of GastroparesiselectroCore, Inc. announced top line data from an abstract being presented as an oral podium presentation at the 2023 American College of Gastroenterology Annual Meeting held in Vancouver, Canada from October 23- 25, 2023 regarding the potential for nVNS to decrease the use of acute rescue medications for exacerbations of nausea due to Gastroparesis (GP) or Functional Dyspepsia (FD). Many gastrointestinal disorders can cause nausea and vomiting, of which the most well-known is gastroparesis, a digestive disorder in which the stomach empties slowly. The symptoms of gastroparesis can range from mild to severe, requiring prolonged hospitalizations and interventions, and causing life-threatening complications which can significantly affect the quality of life in affected individuals. It is estimated that close to 6 million Americans suffer from gastroparesis which is more common in women than men. The economic impact of gastroparesis can be substantial, with studies reporting 11% of patients disabled due to their gastroparesis symptoms, while another 28.5% reported a loss of yearly income. Nausea without slow gastric emptying may be even more common and has been referred to by many names, including chronic unexplained nausea and vomiting (CUNV), gastroparesis-like syndrome (GLS), functional vomiting, and vomiting of unexplained etiology (VUE). Many of these patients can be classified as having functional dyspepsia (FD) which is a disorder that may affect 10% of the US population. Announces the Publication of Two Peer Reviewed Publication of Two Peer Reviewed Publications Supporting the Use of Gammacore ( Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation; nVNS) in Patients with Post Traumatic Stress DisorderelectroCore, Inc. announced the publication of two peer reviewed publications supporting the use of gammaCore (non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation; nVNS) in patients with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The first paper entitled "Effect of transcutaneous cervical vagus nerve stimulation on declarative and working memory in patients with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): A pilot study" wasauthored by Tilendra Choudhary and the second, "Transcutaneous vagal nerve stimulation modulates stress-induced plasma ghrelin levels: A double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled trial" was written by Kasra Moazzami. Both studies were conducted at Emory University and were published in the peer reviewed Journal of Affective Stress Disorder. The prevalence of PTSD in the United States is estimated at 10-12% in women and 5-6% in men, and the prevalence in veterans can be twice as high. Ghrelin is a neuropeptide hypothesized to be involved in the stress response but also plays an important role in the regulation of appetite. Biomarkers that can be easily assessed can help identify likely responders to a specific therapy and are critical to improving the patient experience and decreasing health care costs. The results of this study showed that TCVNS, in conjunction with personalized traumatic scripts, resulted in lower ghrelin levels (265.2 +- 143.6 pg/ml vs 478.7 +- 349.2 pg/ml, P = 0.01). Additionally, after completing the public speaking and mental math tests, ghrelin levels were found to be lower in the group receiving TCVNS (293.3 +- 102.4 pg/ml vs 540.3 +- 203.9 pg/ml, P =0.009).2 Ghrelin may be involved in behaviors like stress-induced over-eating, suggesting future avenues of research into the potential for nVNS in the treatment of obesity and possibly stress-induced eating disorders.お知らせ • Aug 24electroCore, Inc. Announces Dismissal of All Litigation Related to Its 2018 Initial Public OfferingelectroCore, Inc. announced that it has been completely vindicated in the securities class actions over the company’s 2018 initial public offering brought in the federal and state courts of New Jersey. The litigation has concluded without any finding of wrongdoing or liability, nor any payment, by electroCore. On July 13, 2023, District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi of the United States District for the District of New Jersey, dismissed the second amended class action complaint alleging violations of the Securities Act and the Securities Exchange Act. In a detailed opinion, Judge Quraishi considered each of the plaintiff’s allegations of misrepresentations and omissions in the prospectus for the IPO and in other public statements and filings in 2018-19 and held the plaintiff has not adequately pleaded any alleged untrue statement or that any allegedly omitted information rendered any factual statement untrue. Judge Quraishi also found that the plaintiff failed to adequately allege that electroCore intended to mislead or omit information. Judge Quraishi permitted the plaintiff thirty days to try to amend their complaint for a third time but warned that “while the Plaintiff can change the words of the Complaint, Plaintiff cannot change the words of the Prospectus.” Judge Quraishi’s dismissal followed the prior dismissal of the first amended complaint, also in a detailed opinion assessing each of plaintiff’s allegations, by District Judge Anne E. Thompson, on August 13, 2021. The plaintiff decided not to amend their complaint a third time and did not appeal the District Court’s ruling within the required time. Thus, the federal court litigation is over. This follows the termination earlier this year of litigation over the IPO and electroCore’s statements initiated in 2019 in the Somerset County, New Jersey Superior Court. That case was twice dismissed with prejudice, and on May 15, 2023, the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court unanimously affirmed the dismissal with prejudice. The time for further appeals in that case also has expired. Thus, the litigation over the initial public offering has been brought to a close with a complete vindication of electroCore, its directors and its management in their handling of the 2018 IPO.お知らせ • Aug 11electroCore, Inc. Announces Publication of a Peer Reviewed Manuscript, Transcutaneous Cervical Vagus Nerve Stimulation Reduces Behavioral and Physiological Manifestations of Withdrawal in Patients with Opioid Use DisorderelectroCore, Inc. announced the publication of a peer reviewed manuscript, Transcutaneous Cervical Vagus Nerve Stimulation Reduces Behavioral and Physiological Manifestations of Withdrawal in Patients with Opioid Use Disorder: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Sham-Controlled Pilot Study in the journal, Brain Stimulation. The study, conducted with the support of Emory and Georgia Tech University, was sponsored by a grant from the National Institute on Drug Addiction (NIDA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), through NIH Helping to End Addiction Long-term Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative. Substance use is an escalating crisis in the United States, with opioid-related drug overdose deaths rising above 100,000 in 2021. The standard of care for treating opioid use disorder (OUD) is medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including opioid receptor agonists and antagonists. Yet, the barriers to care are high with only 11% of patients who have OUD receiving the MOUD they need. Additionally, OUD relapse is common amongst patients. As many as 70% of patients with OUD return to use without medication and 46% of patients on methadone, an opioid agonist medication, will relapse. Treatment with the opioid antagonist naltrexone requires an extended period of detoxification before initiation, which can be associated with withdrawal symptoms. Relapse during this period may be associated with an even higher risk of relapse-related overdose and death. New treatments are therefore necessary for managing withdrawal in the treatment of OUD. This double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled study of 21 patients with OUD found that nVNS reduced both the psychological and physiological symptoms of acute opioid withdrawal. In particular, statistically significant reductions in opioid withdrawal symptoms (-1.9 ± 3.7 vs. 0.4 ± 1.0; p=0.047), distress (-17.5 ± 26.5 vs. 2.2 ± 5.9; p=0.004), and pain (-0.8 ± 2.4 vs. 0.9 ± 1.0; p=0.045) were observed over the course of a 2-hour protocol for the nVNS group, in comparison to the sham stimulation group. This was accompanied by a statistically significant decrease in heart rate during active nVNS compared to sham stimulation, across all stimulations (-5.5 ± 3.5 bpm vs. -1.4 ± 2.3 bpm; 0=0.035).お知らせ • Aug 06electroCore, Inc. Announces Study of Gammacore Sapphire™ for the Treatment of Post-Covid SyndromeelectroCore, Inc. announced Mayo Clinic is initiating an investigator-initiated study to assess the efficacy of gammaCore Sapphire non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) in patients with post-COVID syndrome. Post-COVID syndrome, also known as Long COVID, is a collection of symptoms that persist greater than 28 days after the initial onset of symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID) infection1,2. These symptoms, such as headache, brain fog, fatigue and gastric distress can bear a striking resemblance to the “central sensitization syndromes,” a group that includes fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). Post-COVID syndrome is likely to occur in upwards of 10% of the population who has been infected with COVID, likely affecting hundreds of millions across the world. The study entitled “Outcomes of treatment with non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation (nVNS) in post-COVID syndrome: A Pilot Study,” is a randomized, single-center, controlled trial enrolling up to 20 subjects recruited from the Post-COVID Care Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Endpoints of the study include a number of clinical questionnaires including the Post-COVID Functional Status Score, as well as an analysis of blood samples for certain chemokines, and positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) of the brain to evaluate brain metabolism. gammaCore™ (nVNS) is the first non-invasive, hand-held medical therapy applied at the neck to treat migraine and cluster headache through the utilization of a mild electrical stimulation to the vagus nerve that passes through the skin. Designed as a portable, easy-to-use technology, gammaCore is self-administered by patients, as needed, without the potential side effects associated with commonly prescribed drugs. When placed on a patient’s neck over the vagus nerve, gammaCore stimulates the nerve’s afferent fibers, which may lead to a reduction of pain in patients. gammaCore (nVNS) is FDA cleared in the United States for adjunctive use for the preventive treatment of cluster headache in adult patients, the acute treatment of pain associated with episodic cluster headache in adult patients, and the acute and preventive treatment of migraine in adolescent (ages 12 and older) and adult patients, and paroxysmal hemicrania and hemicrania continua in adult patients. gammaCore is CE-marked in the European Union for the acute and/or prophylactic treatment of primary headache (Migraine, Cluster Headache, Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias and Hemicrania Continua) and Medication Overuse Headache in adults.お知らせ • Jun 24electroCore Announces Listing Transfer to the Nasdaq Capital MarketelectroCore, Inc. announced that it has received approval from the Nasdaq Stock Market (“Nasdaq”) to transfer the listing of its common stock from the Nasdaq Global Select Market to the Nasdaq Capital Market. The SAVIOR-1 trial was conducted by principal investigator Dr. Carlos Tornero, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Therapeutics of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia, Spain, between April 2020 and February 2021. The trial targeted patients over 18 years of age and enrolled 110 patients, randomly assigned, with 55 patients in each group. Of the 110 patients, 97 patients (47 in the nVNS treatment group, 50 in the control group) provided baseline demographic and medical history data and were the evaluable population. The study evaluated the safety and feasibility of nVNS when administered in addition to the then-standard of care in patients hospitalized with active SARS-CoV-2 infection compared with the standard of care alone. The study identified significant treatment differences for certain biomarkers of inflammation. Decreases from baseline in C-reaction protein (CRP) levels were significantly greater in the nVNS treatment group as compared to the control group throughout the five-day period combined (p=0.011) and on day 5 compared to the day 1 baseline period alone (p=0.015). On day 1, CRP levels were highly elevated for 90% of all subjects, but by days 3 and 5, the percentage of subjects with normal CRP levels improved markedly in the nVNS group with day 3 CRP levels at 17.9% vs. 52.2% in the control (p=0.010). Additionally, the nVNS group had a significantly greater decrease from baseline in procalcitonin level at day 5 (p=0.012) as compared to the control group. Increased levels of CRP, procalcitonin, and d-dimer have all been reported to be associated with more severe disease and the lower levels of these markers in the nVNS treated group may represent the initial impact of nVNS therapy to potentially improve the course of a patients’ COVID-19 symptoms. nVNS was well tolerated with no major device-related adverse events and the therapy was administered three times daily to most patients as outlined in the study protocol.お知らせ • Apr 13electroCore, Inc. Announces Completion of Enrollment in the TRANSIT Study of non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation (nVNS) in Post-Operative IleuselectroCore, Inc. announced enrollment has been completed for the TRANSIT study of non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation (nVNS) to reduce ileus after colorectal surgery. This randomized, participant blinded, sham-controlled study is being sponsored by the United Kingdom’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The 97-patient study is led by Dr. Stephen Chapman, Clinical Research Fellow in the University of Leeds School of Medicine. The study is conducted at St. James Hospital in Leeds, England and Bradford Royal Infirmary in Bradford, England. Ileus occurs in 10-20% of patients who have undergone elective colorectal surgery. Ileus is a distressing condition characterized by abdominal distension, persistent vomiting, and delayed return of bowel function after surgery. For patients, it prolongs the length of hospital stays and increases the risk of serious complications such as pneumonia and venous thromboembolic events. For healthcare systems, ileus increases per-patient costs by up to 71%, particularly those associated with nursing care, laboratory investigations, and medications. Clinical endpoints in the TRANSIT study include the number of postoperative days to first flatus, first stool, first oral intake, hospital discharge, and the GI-2 composite outcome, a common clinical measure of return of bowel function. The amount of daily oral morphine equivalent requirements, as well as a number of safety and feasibility outcomes to inform potential future clinical research and use, will also be assessed. Study results are expected later this year and will be presented at an appropriate medical congress.お知らせ • Jan 19electroCore, Inc. The paper reports the results of a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial conducted at twenty-seven sites across the United States. Originally designed and powered to randomize 400 patients, the study was closed early due to COVID-19 after enrolling 231 subjects. The results of the study showed a decrease in the number of monthly headache days of 4.6 vs. -3.0 for sham (p=0.05) with 44.87% of subjects in the gammaCore group having greater than a 50% reduction in the number of migraine days per month compared with 26.81% for the sham group (p=0.05). Quality of life, as measured by the HIT-6 (Headache Impact scale), improved by -4.9 points vs. -2.3 for sham (p<0.05). In the subpopulation of patients diagnosed with migraine with aura, the number of headache days decreased by 5.5 days in the nVNS group compared with 2.7 in the sham group (p=0<0.05), a therapeutic gain of >100% compared to sham. These findings are consistent with previous reports on the mechanisms of action that suggest nVNS may be particularly effective in patients with migraine with aura.Reported Earnings • Nov 06Third quarter 2021 earnings released: US$0.057 loss per share (vs US$0.10 loss in 3Q 2020)The company reported a solid third quarter result with reduced losses, improved revenues and improved control over expenses. The study was funded by the Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata, India. Neurological disorders are now the leading source of disability in the world, and Parkinson’s disease is the fastest-growing of these disorders. As populations age and life expectancy increases, the number of individuals with Parkinson’s disease and the duration of the disease will increase, leading to more patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease. To address this burden, primary prevention strategies based on the underlying causes of Parkinson’s disease and more effective symptomatic treatments are needed. The study, which enrolled thirty-six subjects, was undertaken to explore the safety, feasibility and efficacy of self-administered non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) in the treatment of gait and other motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. In a subgroup of study patients, levels of selected neurotrophins, markers of inflammation and oxidative stress were measured in blood before and after nVNS. Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) has been found to be beneficial in improving locomotion in a rat model of PD,3 and two independent preliminary studies found improvement in gait in patients with PD after a single application of cervical nVNS. The study provides preliminary evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of nVNS in treating motor and non-motor symptoms of PD. Patients were satisfied with the treatment and the majority were able to self-administer nVNS. Adverse events were infrequent, non-serious, and similar across both Active and Sham groups. Significant increases in velocity (p=0.003), step length (p=0.007), and a reduction in stance time (p=0.001) were seen in the nVNS treated group compared to sham stimulation, indicating that PD patients were walking not only with a faster pace but also with improved rhythm. Other gait parameters also showed significant improvement from baseline in all five domains, specifically after nVNS treatment, suggesting that nVNS may result in an overall improvement in the quality of gait in PD patients. Treatment with nVNS significantly reduced TNF-a levels (p<0.05) and increased concentrations of reduced glutathione (p<0.05), which are both markers of inflammation in PD patients. Brain Derived Neurotrophic Growth Factors, which are reduced in PD, were significantly increased by nVNS (p<0.05) suggesting a possible disease modifying effect.お知らせ • May 25electroCore, Inc. Develops Non-Drug and Non-Invasive Alternative to Pharmaceuticals That Safely and Effectively Stimulates the Vagus Nerve to Communicate with the Brain and Help Optimize the Body’s Own Ability to Control Problems Impacting Its HealthelectroCore, Inc. developed a non-drug and non-invasive alternative to pharmaceuticals that safely and effectively stimulates the vagus nerve to communicate with the brain and help optimize the body’s own ability to control problems impacting its health. While vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has been available for decades, electroCore has transformed the industry with non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) therapy which taps into the power and potential of the vagus nerve via a portable device. Implanted Vagus Nerve Stimulation (iVNS), which involves the surgical implantation of a device, was one of the first major breakthroughs highlighting how electrical stimulation could be used to treat conditions such as depression, epilepsy, infectious disease, and heart disease. In 2008, electroCore joined this medical exploration and two years later created a non-invasive way of delivering VNS therapy. Between 2011 and 2017, nVNS received CE Marks, which means it fulfilled the requirements of relevant European product directives in addition to performance and safety standards, for the treatment of multiple conditions in neurology, psychiatry, and gastroenterology. In 2017, electroCore’s nVNS received its first FDA clearance for the acute treatment of episodic cluster headache. Since then, electroCore’s game changing nVNS therapy received four additional FDA clearances as well as growing acknowledgement from health care providers and patients as a front-line, non-drug option for the treatment and prevention of migraine and cluster headache. The creation of a safe, patient-controlled way of activating the vagus nerve has opened the door for the research and clinical community to study the vagus nerve’s potential to treat several conditions more easily and safely. At the forefront of medicine, electroCore and other organizations are expanding research on the vagus nerve with clinical studies of nVNS’s effectiveness on conditions including COVID-19, post-traumatic headache, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, stroke, sub-arachnoid hemorrhage and addiction as well as a number of gastrointestinal and inflammatory conditions.Reported Earnings • May 09First quarter 2021 earnings released: US$0.11 loss per share (vs US$0.27 loss in 1Q 2020)The company reported a solid first quarter result with reduced losses, improved revenues and improved control over expenses. Announces Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Study of Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation (nVNS) for Symptomatic Exacerbation of Nausea in Patients with Gastroparesis and Related DisorderselectroCore, Inc. announced that Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is starting an investigator-initiated trial of non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) using the Company’s proprietary gammaCore device to treat symptomatic exacerbation of nausea in patients with gastroparesis and related disorders (NCT04857281). It is estimated that close to 6 million Americans suffer from gastroparesis which is more common in women than men.2 The economic impact of gastroparesis can be substantial, with studies reporting 11% of patients disabled due to their gastroparesis symptoms, while another 28.5% reported a loss of yearly income. Nausea without slow gastric emptying may be even more common and has been referred to by many names, including chronic unexplained nausea and vomiting (CUNV), gastroparesis-like syndrome (GLS), functional vomiting, and vomiting of unexplained etiology (VUE). Many of these patients can be classified as having functional dyspepsia (FD) which is a disorder that may affect 10% of the US population.お知らせ • Apr 14ElectroCore, Inc. The article, entitled "Non-invasive vagus nerve stimulating is associated with the reduction in persistent post-concussion symptoms: an observational study," found that adjunctive use of gammaCore with standard care was associated with significant and clinically meaningful improvements across multiple domains of the Neurobehavioral Symptom Inventory (NSI). The study included 102 patients with persistent symptoms following mTBI. Patients experienced significant reductions in 16 of 22 symptom categories, including post-traumatic headache, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, and depression. Approximately 34% of patients reported meaningful improvement in at least half of their persistent symptoms. Importantly, improvements were observed both in patients treated within three months of injury and in those whose symptoms had persisted for over a year, suggesting that nVNS may be beneficial regardless of time since injury.

お知らせ • Oct 26Electrocore, Inc. Non-Invasive Vagal Nerve Stimulation (nVNS) Reduces Nausea Rescue Medication in Patients with Gastroparesis andRelated Disorders, with Additional Benefits on Multiple Other Associated Symptoms This pilot study (n=41) included patients =15 years of age with ongoing GP or FD symptoms for a period of =3 months. The focus is the commercialization of medical devices for the management and treatment of certain medical conditions and consumer product offerings utilizing nVNS to promote general wellbeing and human performance in the United States and select overseas markets.

お知らせ • Sep 28electroCore, Inc. Additionally, after completing the public speaking and mental math tests, ghrelin levels were found to be lower in the group receiving TCVNS (293.3 +- 102.4 pg/ml vs 540.3 +- 203.9 pg/ml, P =0.009).2 Ghrelin may be involved in behaviors like stress-induced over-eating, suggesting future avenues of research into the potential for nVNS in the treatment of obesity and possibly stress-induced eating disorders.
お知らせ • Aug 24electroCore, Inc. Thus, the litigation over the initial public offering has been brought to a close with a complete vindication of electroCore, its directors and its management in their handling of the 2018 IPO.

お知らせ • Sep 08electroCore, Inc. -1.4 ± 2.3 bpm; 0=0.035).

お知らせ • Jul 08Electrocore, Inc. When placed on a patient’s neck over the vagus nerve, gammaCore stimulates the nerve’s afferent fibers, which may lead to a reduction of pain in patients. gammaCore (nVNS) is FDA cleared in the United States for adjunctive use for the preventive treatment of cluster headache in adult patients, the acute treatment of pain associated with episodic cluster headache in adult patients, and the acute and preventive treatment of migraine in adolescent (ages 12 and older) and adult patients, and paroxysmal hemicrania and hemicrania continua in adult patients. gammaCore is CE-marked in the European Union for the acute and/or prophylactic treatment of primary headache (Migraine, Cluster Headache, Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias and Hemicrania Continua) and Medication Overuse Headache in adults.

お知らせ • Apr 22electroCore Announces Publication of Investigator-Initiated Trial Data for SAVIOR-1 in COVID-19 Patients in Frontiers in NeurologyelectroCore, Inc. announced that Frontiers in Neurology has published results from an investigator-initiated trial, SAVIOR-1, a prospective, randomized, controlled study evaluating non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) using gammaCore Sapphire™ in patients admitted to the hospital for treatment of COVID-19. Increased levels of CRP, procalcitonin, and d-dimer have all been reported to be associated with more severe disease and the lower levels of these markers in the nVNS treated group may represent the initial impact of nVNS therapy to potentially improve the course of a patients’ COVID-19 symptoms. nVNS was well tolerated with no major device-related adverse events and the therapy was administered three times daily to most patients as outlined in the study protocol.

お知らせ • Feb 02electroCore, Inc. Study results are expected later this year and will be presented at an appropriate medical congress.

These findings are consistent with previous reports on the mechanisms of action that suggest nVNS may be particularly effective in patients with migraine with aura.

お知らせ • Jun 03electroCore, Inc. Announces Publication of Study on Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation (nVNS) to Improve Clinical Outcomes and Molecular Biomarkers in Parkinson’S Disease PatientselectroCore, Inc. announced the publication of a peer-reviewed paper, entitled “Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation Improves Clinical and Molecular Biomarkers of Parkinson’s Disease in Patients with Freezing of Gait” in the journal NPJ Parkinson’s Disease. The paper reports the results of a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled crossover trial conducted at the Institute of Neurosciences in Kolkata, India in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University in England using gammaCore SapphireTM. Brain Derived Neurotrophic Growth Factors, which are reduced in PD, were significantly increased by nVNS (p<0.05) suggesting a possible disease modifying effect.
お知らせ • May 25electroCore, Inc. At the forefront of medicine, electroCore and other organizations are expanding research on the vagus nerve with clinical studies of nVNS’s effectiveness on conditions including COVID-19, post-traumatic headache, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, stroke, sub-arachnoid hemorrhage and addiction as well as a number of gastrointestinal and inflammatory conditions.

Many of these patients can be classified as having functional dyspepsia (FD) which is a disorder that may affect 10% of the US population.
