VIAVI Solutions Inc. Launches Cesium-less ePRTC360+ Enhanced Primary Reference Time Clock as Alternative to Cesium-Accuracy Holdover Clock VIAVI Solutions Inc. has launched the patent-pending Cesium-less ePRTC360+™? holdover solution to safeguard at-risk critical power grids, transportation, aviation and public safety systems, 5G mobile networks and AI data center infrastructure against the increased threat of GNSS timing disruptions. It is the only alternative to Cesium clocks to meet ITU-T G.8272.1 standards. The international ITU-T G. 8272.1 standard stipulates that Enhanced Primary Reference Time Clock (ePRTC) holdover must have short-term drift of less than 30 ns when entering into holdover and a long-term drift of less than 100 ns over 14 days, all traceable to UTC. Previously achieved only by Cesium atomic clocks, VIAVI's ePRTC360+ now also meets this standard. The ePRTC360+ has been successfully tested across a range of live-sky defense and commercial jamming/spoofing environments, and has been integrated into VIAVI's SecurePNT™? 6200 product series. The technology can maintain 100 ns accuracy during GNSS-denied threats through the resilient altGNSS GEO-L service with no time limit. It also combines an augmented VIAVI SecureTimeSM GEO anti-jamming antenna and an enhanced GNSS anti-spoofing antenna that also receive eGNSS GEO service with GPS/GNSS-NMA authentication for spoofing detection and mitigation. Unlike conventional GNSS omni-directional signals, which can be drowned out by low-power interference, VIAVI's exclusive and GNSS-independent GEO-L service leverages encrypted and highly directional L-band signals transmitted from geostationary satellites. Coupled with the augmented VIAVI SecureTime GEO antenna, the altGNSS GEO- L-band signals transmitted from Geostationary satellites. Cou coupled with the augmented VIAVI secureTime GEO antenna, the AltGNSS GEO-L Service provides enhanced anti-jamming protection and a resilient timing reference for the ePRTC360+'s internal Rubidium holdover oscillator and enables smooth multi-orbit source switchover, even when primary GNSS requirements are jamming or subject to sophisticated meaconing attacks. The affordability of ePRTC360+ clocks compared to Cesium clocks enable operators to deploy them beyond the core and across the network. They also complement non-RF Cesium clocks at the core. This boosts end-to-end sync network robustness and holdover reliability through meshed network PTP feeds as backup between the clocks, especially in case of local or regional jamming and/or spoofing threats. In addition, the ePRTC360+ addresses constraints posed by the use of Cesium clocks for holdover timing. These include sensitivity to shock, delicate and multi-stage startup procedures that take days to complete, the need for ECCN 3A001.i licenses for export, long GNSS learning period of up to 40 days, as well as strict shipping and storage protocols. In addition, Cesium tubes need to be replaced approximately every seven years, and the disposal of Cesium clocks are classified as a hazard due to their material content. The ePRTC360 + eliminates these hurdles and has been designed for rapid and easy integration into any vendor's grandmaster clock system. It enables operators to meet stringent ePRTC requirements while reducing total cost of ownership. The ePRTC360®? will be demonstrated for the first time at VIAVI's Stand 5B18 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026, which takes place March 2-5 in Barcelona, Spain. Annuncio • Jan 29

Viavi Solutions Inc. Announces Long-Range Hollow Core Fiber Bidirectional Testing and Certification Solution VIAVI Solutions Inc. has announced the industry's first all-in-one medium and long-range bidirectional testing and certification solution for hollow core fiber (HCF). The offering implements VIAVI's advanced 8100 Series OTDR modules, optical dispersion measurement (ODM) modules and ReportPRO software, which includes specific algorithms capable of performing the bidirectional OTDR analysis required for hollow core fibers. The efficacy of the solution has been tested and proven through validation trials in partnership with fiber manufacturers, specialist contractors and three leading hyperscalers. Compared to single mode fiber, hollow core fiber enables up to 30% lower latency, up to 70% reduced Chromatic Dispersion (CD), up to 65% lower attenuation and reduced signal distortion. This enables faster data transmission over increased distances without the need for amplification and minimal data errors/losses. Hollow core fiber technology is being increasingly adopted for data center interconnect between hyperscale campuses for AI, high-frequency financial trading, quantum communication, defense and other applications where substantial operational and service performance improvements can be achieved by its use. Hollow core fiber projects require larger investments and an expansive range of tests due to increased manufacturing and specialist contractor deployment costs and differing optical properties such as backscattering and spectral range. In addition to bidirectional OTDR measurements at higher wavelengths, dispersion testing and attenuation profile (AP) are needed to confirm correct installation to protect investments and ensure future performance, particularly over medium- and long-haul links. Few testing and certification options exist, and those without the necessary OTDR performance or those that use OTDR-based dispersion test techniques may only being capable of testing shorter distances. VIAVI's solution is the first all-in-one certification solution capable of bidirectional OTDR, PMD, CD and AP testing and reporting for hollow core fiber links. Thanks to OTDR dynamic range performance and non-OTDR based dispersion testing, it is suitable for all types of hollow core fiber including DNANF and PBG over short-, medium- and long-distance links. These solutions are hosted on VIAVI's OneAdvisor 800 Fiber platform. Annuncio • Oct 30

Viavi Solutions Inc. Announces Significant Enhance Visibility to the Observer Platform Allowing IT Teams to Further Maximize Network Availability, Productivity and Compliance Viavi Solutions Inc. announced significant enhancements to the Observer Platform allowing IT teams to further maximize network availability, productivity and compliance. The enhancements include critical new capabilities in End-User Experience (EUE) scoring, digital certificate analysis, application identification, Unified Communications (UC) support, and Azure traffic visibility through NSG flow log analysis. The VIAVI State of the Network study revealed enterprises' top challenges in managing their networks. With a majority of enterprise applications hosted in the cloud, fewer than 1% of organizations say they are satisfied with network visibility. problem domain isolation - pinpointing issues across network, server, application, or client domains - remains one of the biggest challenges for NetOps teams. End-user experience is the highest ranking KPI. And nearly half of teams spend between 10 and 20 hours per week troubleshooting UC platforms. The latest Observer release, v18.17, addresses these challenges to improve reliability of networks in meeting organizational objectives. Major new enhancements include: EUE Scoring Updates: Observer's patented EUE analysis now provides deeper insight into each problem domain - network, server, application or client - clearly showing individual scores and associated reductions, making it easy to understand what is contributing the most to performance degradations. Traffic Visibility for Azure and AWS: With the introduction of NSG flow log support, Observer adds insight and visibility for Azure environments equivalent to the existing capabilities for AWS using VPC Flow Logs. As Microsoft does not natively support packet extraction, flow visibility is essential for troubleshooting issues within complex Azure environments. Enhanced Application Recognition: Through added Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and Application Identification (AppID) capabilities, the Observer Platform now recognizes thousands of specific business and non-business applications natively without having them embedded or hidden within HTTP or HTTPS. UC Call Visualization: Observer is now the only platform in the industry to transform both packet and flow data into intuitive, actionable visualizations that follow the journey of calls through the network infrastructure and identify the location and root cause(s) of poor UC performance. Digital Certificate Analysis: Running servers with non-compliant or expired certificates is a risk, especially if affected hosts and services are public facing. Certificate analysis enables a proactive approach to take timely action, prevent negative outcomes, and safeguard networks and reputation. Annuncio • Nov 17

Viavi Solutions Inc Introduces NTN and HAPs Network Testing For 5G and 6G Satellite Communication Viavi Solutions Inc. announced the availability of base station and end-to-end testing supporting Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) and High Altitude Platforms (HAPs). Wireless technologies are increasingly augmenting traditional terrestrial communication networks, with satellite communications helping to provide near-complete coverage. The VIAVI TM500 and TeraVM test platforms validate the conformance, performance and reliability of gNodeBs and entire networks under the unique service link conditions of NTN and HAPs networks. 3GPP Release 17 specifications formally introduced support and guidelines for NTNs, with subsequent releases expected to continue to refine the standards. These specifications will help improve the performance of NTNs, allow them to converge with terrestrial telecoms networks and enable support across existing 5G mobile handsets and chipsets. A VIAVI analysis estimated that the growth in satellite communications will result in approximately 30,000 new satellites orbiting the Earth, significantly expanding the potential of NTNs to provide universal coverage. Satellite communication in 5G brings another level of complexity for testing. NTNs need to be reliable to cope with the distance, speed and mobility of both satellite, HAPs and User Equipment (UE), while still delivering on performance. Test solutions are not only required to emulate different UE mobility and fading profiles, but they must also take the large doppler shifts from fast-moving satellites and airborne platforms into consideration. To validate the base station prior to non-terrestrial deployment, the TM500 can emulate a high volume of devices, new mobility patterns, signal propagation delays, and other conditions unique to NTN while TeraVM emulates the core network. This test scenario is ideal for early functional tests such as 3GPP protocol testing and can be applied to both regenerative and transparent architectures. Further test scenarios are focused on testing and optimizing the network end-to-end, using a real core to validate the performance and reliability of the entire network. Annuncio • Aug 11

Viavi Solutions Inc. Introduces Redcap Device Emulation, Boosting 5G IoT Commercialization Viavi Solutions Inc. launched the industry's first Reduced Capability (RedCap) device emulation for 5G network testing, enabling true performance validation for Internet of Things (IoT) and private networks based on a new class of simpler, lower-cost devices including wearables, industrial wireless sensors and video surveillance. This solution is based on the TM500 network test platform, used by the majority of network equipment manufacturers for base station performance testing. 3GPP introduced RedCap devices, also known as Broadband IoT or NR-Light, in 5G NR Release 17. These mid-tier IoT devices have average speed and latency requirements, in between high-end use cases like Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) and lower-end Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) applications. In so doing, 3GPP formalized support for devices being deployed at the network edge for IoT and Industry 4.0 applications. With early validation efforts focused on conformance and network emulation, VIAVI has filled a significant gap with the availability of RedCap device emulation. Based on the widely accepted User Equipment (UE) emulation capabilities of the TM500, RedCap device emulation enables equipment manufacturers to create realistic scenarios of thousands of such devices carrying traffic. With the upgraded TM500, RedCap device testing can be seamlessly integrated into the existing test environment. The platform provides the capability to simulate RedCap-like traffic patterns, generate RedCap-specific signaling, and evaluate the network's performance for RedCap use cases. One of the key advantages of using existing integrated solutions like TM500 for RedCap testing is the ability to reuse the well-established, embedded, per-device fading channel models. Fading channels emulate real-world wireless propagation conditions, including multipath propagation and signal fading, which are crucial for testing the performance and reliability of a live network environment. The TM500, combined with fading channel models, allows for accurate simulation of different scenarios and helps assess the performance of RedCap devices in challenging propagation conditions. Viavi Solutions Inc. Unveils Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing from Jackson Labs Viavi Solutions Inc. announced the availability of the PNT-6200 Series Assured Reference for resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT). This solution is based on VIAVI's acquisition of Jackson Labs Technologies in November 2022, and delivers critical security for PNT to communications service providers, network equipment manufacturers, government and military, and avionics markets. The PNT-6200 Series will be showcased at MWC Barcelona, February 27-March 2, at VIAVI Stand #5A18. As networks become dependent on disaggregated, cloud-native architectures, traditional methods of positioning and timing become less reliable. Concurrently, they are increasingly susceptible to threats of spoofing and jamming. GPS, the most widely used timing and geolocation system, uses low-power radio signals that are easily jammed or spoofed, often inadvertently. These issues can disrupt operations in a range of environments, from aircraft instrument landing systems to timing and synchronization in mobile networks. The PNT-6200 Series Assured Reference provides maximum resiliency for critical infrastructure dependent on positioning and timing. This compact system can supplement or even replace GPS signals based on connectivity to the broadest range of timing sources in the market, including Low Earth Orbit (LEO), GNSS, commercial satellite, terrestrial, wireline, and atomic clock services. When plugged directly into the antenna port of the timing receiver, the PNT-6200 Series takes the timing signal from the most reliable source and converts it to a radio frequency (RF) signal as a direct replacement for the GPS input, seamlessly enabling continuous operation. With Private 5G emerging as a major focus for enterprises, resilient PNT will be critical to enable efficient deployment and robust cybersecurity. When installing 5G systems indoors via microcells, access to GPS for timing synchronization and E911 positioning purposes becomes difficult or impossible, and placing an antenna on the roof of the building may not be feasible. With indoor reception, and fully GNSS-independent timing and positioning capability world-wide, the small form factor and diversity of signal sources enable the PNT-6200 Series to effectively address these challenges.
