Announces Notice Concerning Fire at Kitakyushu Coking Works Nippon Coke & Engineering Company, Limited announced that on December 31, 2025, a fire occurred on the coal conveyor belt at Kitakyushu Coking Works. The conveyor belt used to transport coking coal to the coke oven was damaged. There were no human injuries. Location of fire: Coking coal conveyor belt for coke oven batteries, Kitakyushu Coking Works, Nippon Coke & Engineering Co. Ltd. (1-3 Hibiki-machi, Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu-city, Fukuoka, Japan). Date and time of occurrence: December 31, 2025, around 5:50 a.m. (Fire extinguishing was completed at 1:48 p.m.). Cause of fire: The cause of the fire is under investigation. Impact on operations: Due to damage to the coking coal transport line, the coke oven batteries are currently suspended and on standby in a heated state.
