Coles Group Limited (ASX:COL) entered into a binding agreement to acquire Two automated milk processing facilities of Saputo Dairy Australia for approximately AUD 110 million on April 2, 2023. The acquisition will be funded from Coles existing debt facilities. The acquisition of these sites is subject to Australian Competition and Consumer Commission approval and other customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in 1H FY24. As of July 20, 2023, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has identified preliminary competition concerns regarding the transaction. The ACCC has invited submissions from interested parties in response to the statement of issues by August 3, 2023. As of December 1, 2023, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has approved the transaction. The transaction is expected to close in 2H FY24.
