Arla Foods amba cancelled the acquisition of an unknown majority stake in Arabian Food Industries Company (DOMTY) - S.A.E (CASE:DOMT). Arla Foods amba made an non-binding offer to acquire an unknown majority stake in Arabian Food Industries Company (DOMTY) - S.A.E (CASE:DOMT) on October 15, 2024. A cash consideration valued at EGP 31.48 per share will be paid by Arla Foods amba. The corresponding to a value of EGP 8,897 million for 100% of the shares. It is however expected that the current owners, the El Damaty family, will continue with a shareholding alongside Arla and Mohamed El Damaty will continue as the CEO. It is Arla's intention to delist the company from the Egyptian stock exchange. As of January 13, 2025, The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has approved Denmark-based Arla Foods’ request to extend the deadline for submitting a purchase offer for Domty by 60 working days, starting from January 9, 2025.
The transaction is subject to approval by regulatory board / committee, consummation of due diligence investigation and definitive agreement.
