Insider Buyers At Anywhere Real Estate Recover Some Losses, But Still Down US$27k
Some of the losses seen by insiders who purchased US$210.1k worth of Anywhere Real Estate Inc. (NYSE:HOUS) shares over the past year were recovered after the stock increased by 14% over the past week. However, the purchase is proving to be a costly gamble, since losses made by insiders have totalled US$27k since the time of purchase.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Anywhere Real Estate
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Director Enrique Silva for US$81k worth of shares, at about US$5.42 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$4.77 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
