Insiders At PVH Sold US$2.4m In Stock, Alluding To Potential Weakness

Published
NYSE:PVH

Many PVH Corp. (NYSE:PVH) insiders ditched their stock over the past year, which may be of interest to the company's shareholders. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, shareholders should take a deeper look if several insiders are selling stock over a specific time period.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

PVH Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider, Julie Fuller, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$1.6m worth of shares at a price of US$109 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$94.88). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

Does PVH Boast High Insider Ownership?

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Insiders own 0.6% of PVH shares, worth about US$31m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About PVH Insiders?
