In fact, the recent purchase by Kuak Choi Lim was the biggest purchase of Kinergy shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Kinergy insiders own about HK$76m worth of shares (which is 45% of the company). Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Kinergy Tell Us?

The recent insider purchase is heartening. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But on the other hand, the company made a loss during the last year, which makes us a little cautious. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Kinergy insiders are well aligned, and quite possibly think the share price is too low. Nice!
