Insiders Re-Evaluate Their S$43.9m Stock Purchase As Zhongshi Minan Holdings Falls To HK$168m

Published
SEHK:8283

Insiders who acquired S$43.9m worth of Zhongshi Minan Holdings Limited's (HKG:8283) stock at an average price of S$0.093 in the past 12 months may be dismayed by the recent 12% price decline. This is not good as insiders invest based on expectations that their money will appreciate over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their original investment is now worth only S$39.5m.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Zhongshi Minan Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Executive Co-Chairman & CEO Lei Wang bought HK$30m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.10 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than HK$0.084 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Lei Wang.
