Barka Water and Power Company SAOG owns, designs, develops, constructs, finances, operates, maintains, and insures power generating stations, water desalination plants, associated gas interconnection facilities, and other related infrastructure facilities in the Sultanate of Oman. It operates through two segments, Base Plant and Expansion Plants. The company operates a 427 megawatt-hours gas-fired power generation facility; 20 MIGD multi-stage flash distillation (MSF) water facilities; and 10 MIGD and 12.5 MIGD seawater reverse osmosis plants. The company was formerly known as ACWA Power Barka SAOG and changed its name to Barka Water and Power Company SAOG in March 2022. Barka Water and Power Company SAOG was incorporated in 2000 and is headquartered in Barka, the Sultanate of Oman.
