Petron Corporation operates as an oil refining and marketing company in the Philippines. The company engages in importing, transporting, trading, marketing, distributing, and retailing petroleum and related products; and refining, distilling, and manufacturing various petroleum products, including oil, gas, and other vehicle substances. It sells liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, and asphalts; petrochemicals, such as benzene, toluene, mixed xylene, propylene, and polypropylene; low sulfur waxy residues; and lubricants and greases. The company also operates service stations, including forecourts, quick-service restaurants, locators, as well as convenience stores under the Treats brand name. In addition, it offers insurance and reinsurance services; and leases of acquired real estate properties and equipment for petroleum, refining, storage and distribution facilities, gasoline service stations, and other related structures. The company sells its products through service stations; LPG dealerships; and lube outlets. It serves households; mini-stations and power plants; manufacturing, plantation, transportation, fisheries, commercial, and construction sectors; other industrial customers; and airline customers. It also exports its products. The company was formerly known as Petrophil Corporation and changed its name to Petron Corporation in February 1988. Petron Corporation was founded in 1933 and is headquartered in Mandaluyong City, the Philippines. Petron Corporation is a subsidiary of SEA Refinery Corporation.
