Some RAS Technology Holdings Limited (ASX:RTH) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Executive Director & Chief Commercial Director, Gary Crispe, recently sold a substantial AU$3.0m worth of stock at a price of AU$1.20 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 21% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

RAS Technology Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Gary Crispe was the biggest sale of RAS Technology Holdings shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of AU$1.35. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. It is worth noting that this sale was only 21% of Gary Crispe's holding.

Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It's great to see that RAS Technology Holdings insiders own 49% of the company, worth about AU$30m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
