Forge Global Holdings Insiders Forfeit On 14% Gains After Selling Stock

Published
NYSE:FRGE

Despite the fact that Forge Global Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:FRGE) stock rose 14% last week, insiders who sold US$413k worth of stock in the previous 12 months are likely to be better off. Selling at an average price of US$1.97, which is higher than the current price might have been the right call as holding on to stock would have meant their investment would be worth less now than it was at the time of sale.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the CEO & Director, Kelly Rodriques, for US$116k worth of shares, at about US$2.38 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of US$1.60. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. Kelly Rodriques was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
