Some EQT AB (publ) (STO:EQT) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Head of Real Assets' Advisory Teams, Lennart Blecher, recently sold a substantial kr143m worth of stock at a price of kr287 per share. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 1.8%.

EQT Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Lennart Blecher was the biggest sale of EQT shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even slightly below the current price of kr290. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. We note that the biggest single sale was only 1.8%of Lennart Blecher's holding.

Does EQT Boast High Insider Ownership?

EQT insiders own about kr140b worth of shares (which is 41% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
