Insiders seem to have made the most of their holdings by selling CN¥6.5m worth of Ruihe Data Technology Holdings Limited (HKG:3680) stock at an average sell price of CN¥0.81 during the past year. After the stock price dropped 10% last week, the company's market value declined by HK$126m, but insiders were able to mitigate their losses.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Ruihe Data Technology Holdings

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Banchao Shi, sold HK$6.5m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.81 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (HK$1.67). When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. It is worth noting that this sale was only 35% of Banchao Shi's holding. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Banchao Shi.
