Update shared on 22 Nov 2025
Fair value Decreased 14%Zenith Bank Plc (“the Bank”) has taken note of recent media publications and online commentary claiming that the Bank is in advanced stages of acquiring Paramount Bank in Kenya as part of an expansion into the East African market. Some of these reports go further to suggest that definitive decisions have been reached and that a transaction is currently underway.
The Bank wishes to formally inform the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders, investors, and the general public that the information circulating in the media was neither issued nor authorized by Zenith Bank Plc.
In line with our long-term strategic growth objectives, the Bank continually evaluates various regional expansion opportunities — including potential entry into the East African market. As part of these preliminary considerations, regulatory engagements have commenced, covering multiple strategic options, which may include the acquisition of a financial institution within the region. However, no binding commitment, definitive agreement, or transaction has been concluded at this time.
Should any development arise in the future that requires regulatory disclosure or shareholder notification, Zenith Bank Plc will, without exception, comply fully with all applicable requirements of the NGX Rulebook, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and other statutory disclosure obligations.
We remain committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and timely communication. Stakeholders are strongly advised to rely solely on the Bank’s official communication channels for verified updates.
