Recent News & Updates
Alteryx: Turnaround Gaining Steam, Buy While It's Cheap
Alteryx is a data analytics company that partners with many leading companies such as Snowflake. Alteryx’ growth slowdown started nearly two years ago, and the CEO transition occurred a bit over a year ago. Alteryx has reorganized its sales motion and has been on an acquisition rampage recently to accelerate its move from on-premise to cloud by two years. Given Alteryx’ high margins, consistent ARR growth and large addressable market, the stock could deliver strong returns over time from its current point (~6x ARR). Several comparisons further confirm that Alteryx is valued much cheaper than other software companies.
Alteryx: Analyzing Its Transition And Evaluating The Shares
Alteryx has spent much of 2021 in the investor doghouse with the shares down by about 50% over the past year. That share price performance belies some encouraging news in terms of the company's operating performance, with ARR growth accelerating to 29% last quarter. In addition, customer churn has reduced to its lowest level since 2019, and salesforce turnover has also diminished notably. Since the retirement of the company founder in the fall of 2020, much of the senior management team is new to the company. The company has introduced a Designer Cloud and Intelligence Suite (AI) to take advantage of the still enormous market opportunities in its space.
Alteryx: Embracing The SaaS Transition
Shares of Alteryx have crumbled nearly 50% year-to-date. The company is embarking on a long-needed shift to a subscription-based, cloud-first business model. The company has among the highest margins in the software industry, routinely clocking in at or above 90%. Data integration use cases will become more proliferated as more businesses incorporate big data into day-to-day processes.
