Wah International Holdings Ltd. and serves as its Managing Director and Member of Executive Board. He founded K.Wah Group in 1955 and serves as its Managing Director. He is a Founder of Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited and serves as its Member of Executive Board. Dr. Lui is the Founding President of Hong Kong - Guangdong Economic Development Association and an Honorary President of Hong Kong - Shanghai Economic Development Association. He has over 50 years' experience in quarrying, construction materials and property development. He has been an Executive Chairman of K. Wah International Holdings Ltd. since June 1989 and serves its Executive Director. He serves as Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited. He has been Chairman of K. Wah Construction Materials (Hong Kong) Limited since 1989. Dr. Lui has been Chairman of K. Wah Construction Materials Limited, Division of K. Wah International Holdings Ltd since 1991 and serves as the Chairman of The Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners and China Association (H.K.) for Science and Society. He has been Chairman of K.Wah Group since 1989 and also serves as its Director. He served as the Chairman of Hong Kong Contract Quarry Association, Institute of Quarrying (Hong Kong Branch) and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. He has been an Executive Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited since August 1991. He has been an Executive Director of K. Wah International Holdings Ltd since 1989. He has been a Director of K. Wah Construction Materials Limited since 1991. He has been a member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR in December 2006. Dr. Lui was a Committee Member of the 9th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He was also a member of the Selection Committee for the First Government of the HKSAR and a member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR. He is supporting many charitable and educational activities in the Mainland. He was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Government of the HKSAR in July 2005. Dr. Lui was also awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal by the Government of the HKSAR in 2012. He was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" in Guangzhou, "Citizen of Honour" in Guangzhou, Nanjing and Jiangmen. Dr. Lui was presented the Diamond Award by Macau Tatler and the Lifetime Achievement Award by All Leaders Publication Group Limited, both in 2011. Dr. Lui was awarded Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2012 – Lifetime Achievement Award by Enterprise Asia in 2012 and Lifetime Achievement Award by Golden Horse Award of China Hotel in 2013. Dr. Lui was presented the Outstanding Contribution Award at the International Gaming Awards, as well as Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asian Awards in 2014. Dr. Lui was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Travel Awards in 2015. Dr. Lui is Honorary Trustee of Peking University, Founding Honorary Patron of The University of Hong Kong Foundation for Educational Development and Research, Member of the Board of Trustees of United College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Honorary Member of the Court of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Honorary Life Chairman of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Foundation and Member of the Court of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Member of the Board of Directors of Fudan University and Life Honorary Chairman of Wuyi University Board of Trustees. An asteroid discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory in Nanjing was named after Che Woo Lui in 1995 in recognition of his contribution to the development of Astrology research in China. He was honoured as the Business Person of the Year in DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2007 and the Lifetime Achievement Award by American Academy of Hospitality Sciences of 2007. Dr. Lui was also awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa by the University of Victoria in 2001; the degree of Doctor of Social Science, honoris causa by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002; an Honorary University Fellowship by the University of Hong Kong in 2002; and the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa by the University of Concordia in 2004.
