He has worked the majority of his time with the Anglo Group, operating around the world with stints in the UK, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa and Argentina before culminating as Country Manager, General Manager and President of Anglo Gold Ashanti’s Cerro Vanguardia mine, the largest low sulphidation epithermal gold and silver operation in the Patagonia region of southern Argentina. Since 2008, he served as Country Manager of Andean Resources. He has been an Executive Director of Patagonia Gold plc since June 10, 2015. In the last few years, Mr. Van Tienhoven has been dedicated to merger and acquisition opportunities in the junior mining sector in Latin America including Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Guatemala. He has a degree in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
