He was the founder of Combine Marine Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Star Bulk Carriers Corp. from May 13, 2005 to February 7, 2011. From May 2005 to November 2007, he founded and served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Star Maritime Acquisition Corp. Mr. Tsirigakis is experienced in ship ownership, ship management and new shipbuilding projects. He has three years of seagoing experience. Mr. Tsirigakis started up and established Combine as a third-party ship management company. He has previously owned and successfully operated bulk carriers. From 1991 to 1998, he served as Vice-President and Technical Director of Konkar Shipping S.A. of Athens and Technical Manager of Arcon Shipping Inc. of New York from 1984 to 1991. From 1982 to 1984, Mr. Tsirigakis served as the Technical Manager of Konkars affiliate, Arkon Shipping Agencies Inc. of New York, a part of the Archirodon Construction Group. He served as the Chairman at Star Bulk Carriers Corp., since May 13, 2005 and served as its Director from May 13, 2005 to March 31, 2012. He served as a Director of DryShips Inc. from February 2005 to May 30, 2006. He is a life-member of The Propeller Club of the United States, a member of the Technical Committee (CASTEC) of Intercargo, the International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners, President of the Hellenic Technical Committee of RINA, the Italian Classification Society and member of the Technical Committees of various Classification Societies. He participates in the Intercargo Committee, Classification societies and the Union of Greek Shipowners, SNAME.
