100% Of This FIGS Insider's Holdings Were Sold
Looking at FIGS, Inc.'s (NYSE:FIGS ) insider transactions over the last year, we can see that insiders were net sellers. That is, there were more number of shares sold by insiders than there were purchased.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
FIGS Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Thomas Tull, sold US$55m worth of shares at a price of US$6.25 per share. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$6.21. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive). The only individual insider seller over the last year was Thomas Tull.

Insider Ownership
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. FIGS insiders own about US$85m worth of shares. That equates to 8.4% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At FIGS Tell Us?
It doesn't really mean much that no insider has traded FIGS shares in the last quarter. We don't take much encouragement from the transactions by FIGS insiders. The modest level of insider ownership is, at least, some comfort. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. Case in point: We've spotted 1 warning sign for FIGS you should be aware of.
