Bloom Energy: Increasing Conviction Despite Weakness Due To Near-Term Challenges
Investors sold off Bloom Energy after its 1Q22 results as its numbers, specifically on margins, missed expectations. I looked into its results to determine if the market overreacted. I did a deeper dive into the cause of weaker gross margins in 1Q22 and come out of it finding that 2022 gross margin guidance can actually still be met. In the quarter, Bloom Energy continues to demonstrate how its offerings bring strong value proposition to a wide variety of customers, as elaborated below. Based on checks with the management, Bloom Energy continues to see strong interest for its offerings and its commercial pipeline remains strong. With that, my target price for Bloom Energy remains to be $28.70, implying 87% upside potential from current levels.
