Barnes: Disappointing Underperformance, Still Imperfectly Valued

B has grossly disappointed me this year, but the bullish thesis remains intact. Its net sales were up by 36.4% for the second quarter and 10% for the first half of 2021. As Aerospace was recovering slowly, Industrial remained Barnes' top source of revenue (73% of the total in the 2Q21). The segment delivered a 42% growth, which allowed it to slightly surpass the 2Q19 sales level. The outlook for 2021 and the medium term has become brighter. B has a $71.5 intrinsic value per share, which is 42% above the current share price of $50.3.
