Concrete Pumping Holdings Falls To US$6.56, But Insiders Sold At Lower Price
Concrete Pumping Holdings, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:BBCP) stock price has dropped 12% in the previous week, but insiders who sold US$302k in stock over the past year have had less luck. The average selling price of US$8.13 is still lower than the current share price, or in other words, insiders would have been better off holding on to their shares.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Concrete Pumping Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The President, Bruce Young, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$302k worth of shares at a price of US$8.39 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$6.56. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price. Bruce Young was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Does Concrete Pumping Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It appears that Concrete Pumping Holdings insiders own 6.2% of the company, worth about US$22m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Concrete Pumping Holdings Tell Us?
The fact that there have been no Concrete Pumping Holdings insider transactions recently certainly doesn't bother us. We don't take much encouragement from the transactions by Concrete Pumping Holdings insiders. The modest level of insider ownership is, at least, some comfort. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. Every company has risks, and we've spotted 2 warning signs for Concrete Pumping Holdings (of which 1 is potentially serious!) you should know about.
