American Superconductor gets $40M orders for new energy power systems
American Superconductor (NASDAQ:AMSC) on Tuesday announced $40M orders for new energy power systems. These include orders for reactive compensation, enclosed capacitor banks, harmonic filters, voltage controllers, rectifiers and transformers. Over half the revenue from these orders is expected to be recognized in FY22. "Tailwinds in key markets are driving an acceleration in bookings of our new energy power systems solutions," said AMSC CEO Daniel McGahn. McGahn said increased capital spending in the semiconductor industry and many nations' shift to decarbonization - which will translate into wider adoption of renewable power systems - will support demand of AMSC's products in the medium to long term.
