He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sho-Me Financial Corporation and 1st Savings Bank f.s.b. (the "Bank"), a subsidiary of Sho Me Financial Corp., from December 1993 to February 1998. Prior to joining Savings Bank, he was employed by the OTS as an examiner for 4 years. Mr. Steffens has been a Director of Southern Missouri BanCorp. Inc. and Southern Bank since October 2000. He serves as Director of Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Mr. Steffens also served from 1989 to 1993 as an examiner with the Office of Thrift Supervision. The company also provides loans for the acquisition or refinance of one-to four-family residences; loans secured by commercial real estate, including land, shopping centers, retail establishments, nursing homes and other healthcare related facilities, and other businesses; construction loans; and various secured consumer loans comprising home equity, direct and indirect automobile loans, second mortgages, mobile home loans, and loans secured by deposits. In addition, it offers commercial business loans, such as loans to finance accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, and operating lines of credit.
