Don't Ignore The Insider Selling In Bank7
Some Bank7 Corp. (NASDAQ:BSVN) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the President, Thomas Travis, recently sold a substantial US$646k worth of stock at a price of US$49.36 per share. However, that sale only accounted for 5.1% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Bank7
In fact, the recent sale by Thomas Travis was the biggest sale of Bank7 shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was selling shares at below the current price (US$49.40). When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. This single sale was just 5.1% of Thomas Travis's stake.

Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that Bank7 insiders own 56% of the company, worth about US$263m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
