Mr. Douglas L. Williams, also known as Doug, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Capital Bancshares, Inc. (“Company”) since October 2006 and has been its President since December 22, 2017. Mr. Williams serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Atlantic Capital Bank, National Association (“Atlantic Capital”). He serves as Chief Executive Officer at Atlantic Capital since October 2006. Mr. Williams served as President of Company, Inc. since 2006 until October 31, 2015. He also serves as President of Atlantic Capital. He has over 38 years of experience in banking, finance, and capital markets, as well as extensive experience in Executive Management roles at publicly held banking institutions. From July 2003 to March 2006, Mr. Williams served as Managing Director and Head of the International Corporate Finance Group with responsibility for Wachovia's investment banking and corporate finance activities in Europe, Asia and Latin America. After the merger of Wachovia and First Union in 2001 and until July 2003, he served as an Executive Vice President and Head of the Global Corporate Banking Division. At Wachovia, Mr. Williams served as Chief Risk Officer for all corporate, institutional and wholesale banking activities since 2000 until the merger with First Union in late 2001. In that role, he managed over 100 risk management professionals charged with oversight of credit, market and operational risk in the corporate banking, international banking, capital markets, real estate finance, business banking, dealer finance and regional commercial banking lines of business. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Williams served as an Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Wachovia's Capital Markets Division with direct management responsibility for the debt capital markets business. Mr. Williams served as Executive Vice President and Head of Wachovia's US Corporate Banking Division from 1997 to 1999. At Wachovia, he served as Senior Vice President and Group Executive since 1995 with responsibility for business in the Western and mid-Western states. He has been a Director of Company, since October 2006. He has been a Director at Atlantic Capital since October 2006. Mr. Williams has served on the Boards of the ABA Securities Association, The Visiting Nurse Association of Metropolitan Atlanta and the Global Business Roundtable at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He serves on the Boards of the Metro Atlanta YMCA and Whitefield Academy. Mr. Williams serves on the Boards of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Good Samaritan Health Center. He was previously a Director of the High Museum of Art and is a Member of the Buckhead Coalition. He served as Chairman of the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC) of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and its representative to the CDIAC of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Mr. Williams graduated with honors from Auburn University with a B.S. in Finance and has completed management development programs at the Colgate Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
