Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Orkla ASA (OB:ORK) President, Jaan Semlitsch, recently bought kr553k worth of stock, for kr85.07 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 8.3%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Orkla
The Chairman of the Board Stein Hagen made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for kr23m worth of shares at a price of kr80.77 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is kr84.14. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.
