This Sif Holding Insider Increased Their Holding By 13% Last Year
Insiders were net buyers of Sif Holding N.V.'s (AMS:SIFG ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders bought more stock than they sold.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
Sif Holding Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The Chair of the Executive Board & CEO G. G. P. van Beers made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for €51k worth of shares at a price of €8.75 each. That implies that an insider found the current price of €9.22 per share to be enticing. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider bought shares at close to current prices. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was G. G. P. van Beers.
G. G. P. van Beers bought a total of 11.50k shares over the year at an average price of €8.70. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. Does Sif Holding Boast High Insider Ownership?
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Our information indicates that Sif Holding insiders own about €466k worth of shares. This level of insider ownership is notably low, and not very encouraging.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Sif Holding Tell Us?
It doesn't really mean much that no insider has traded Sif Holding shares in the last quarter. On a brighter note, the transactions over the last year are encouraging. The transactions are fine but it'd be more encouraging if Sif Holding insiders bought more shares in the company.
