Ito En, Ltd. Just Recorded A 8.7% EPS Beat: Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting Next
As you might know, Ito En, Ltd. (TSE:2593) just kicked off its latest half-yearly results with some very strong numbers. The company beat expectations with revenues of JP¥127b arriving 2.0% ahead of forecasts. Statutory earnings per share (EPS) were JP¥38.66, 8.7% ahead of estimates. Following the result, the analysts have updated their earnings model, and it would be good to know whether they think there's been a strong change in the company's prospects, or if it's business as usual. So we gathered the latest post-earnings forecasts to see what estimates suggest is in store for next year.

Taking into account the latest results, Ito En's three analysts currently expect revenues in 2025 to be JP¥467.6b, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Per-share earnings are expected to step up 12% to JP¥130. Before this earnings report, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of JP¥466.4b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥131 in 2025. The consensus analysts don't seem to have seen anything in these results that would have changed their view on the business, given there's been no major change to their estimates.
It will come as no surprise then, to learn that the consensus price target is largely unchanged at JP¥3,833. It could also be instructive to look at the range of analyst estimates, to evaluate how different the outlier opinions are from the mean. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Ito En at JP¥3,900 per share, while the most bearish prices it at JP¥3,800. Still, with such a tight range of estimates, it suggeststhe analysts have a pretty good idea of what they think the company is worth.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. It's also worth noting that the years of declining revenue look to have come to an end, with the forecast stauing flat to the end of 2025. Historically, Ito En's top line has shrunk approximately 1.3% annually over the past five years. Compare this against analyst estimates for the broader industry, which suggest that (in aggregate) industry revenues are expected to grow 2.2% annually. So it's pretty clear that, although revenues are improving, Ito En is still expected to grow slower than the industry.
The Bottom Line
The most obvious conclusion is that there's been no major change in the business' prospects in recent times, with the analysts holding their earnings forecasts steady, in line with previous estimates. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that Ito En's revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
Following on from that line of thought, we think that the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Ito En going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here..
