Insiders who purchased ₹6.96m worth of Ashapura Logistics Limited (NSE:ASHALOG) shares over the past year recouped some of their losses after price gained 17% last week. However, the purchase is proving to be an expensive wager as insiders are yet to get ahead of their losses which currently stand at ₹1.5m since the time of purchase.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Our free stock report includes 1 warning sign investors should be aware of before investing in Ashapura Logistics. Read for free now.

Ashapura Logistics Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by MD & Chairman Sujith Kurup for ₹7.0m worth of shares, at about ₹99.42 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than ₹78.70 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Sujith Kurup.
