We wouldn't blame Info Edge (India) Limited (NSE:NAUKRI) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Kapil Kapoor, the Non-Executive Chairman recently netted about ₹88m selling shares at an average price of ₹4,643. However, that sale only accounted for 0.8% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.
Info Edge (India) Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In fact, the recent sale by Non-Executive Chairman Kapil Kapoor was not their only sale of Info Edge (India) shares this year. Earlier in the year, they fetched ₹2,733 per share in a -₹164m sale. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of ₹4,644. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. We note that the biggest single sale was only 2.3%of Kapil Kapoor's holding.
Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid ₹1.2m for 569.00 shares. On the other hand they divested 253.62k shares, for ₹801m.
