In August of 2002, he joined Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation in Shanghai as technology development department manager. He was promoted to Fab Director in December of 2003 responsible for Fab operation and management. From March of 2007 to November of 2008, Dr. Hong worked in Chartered Semiconductor in Singapore as Director of Advanced Customized Technology Division. From January of 2009 to March of 2010, he worked in NXP Semiconductors in Jilin, China as Senior Director and General Manager. From April of 2010 to October of 2011, he served his positions as Associate Vice President and Plant Director of the 300mm Fab in Beijing of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (“SMIC”). He was transferred to SMIC Shanghai in November of 2011, where he served as Associate Vice President of special account sales, special projects and business development. In April of 2013, he joined XMC, where he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Planning and Engineering and Special Assistant to CEO. In March of 2014, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Business and Engineering Operations. In September of 2014, he became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Hong has been Executive Director at Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation Limited since May 16, 2017. Dr. Hong was selected in “the Recruitment Program of Global Experts” in December of 2010 and “Beijing Overseas Talents Aggregation Project” in March of 2011 and was awarded the National Distinguished Expert and Beijing Distinguished Expert respectively. Dr. Hong was also selected as Wuhan “City Partner” in November of 2016. Dr. Hong graduated from Fudan University with a Bachelor degree in Physics in 1983 and a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1986. Dr. Hong holds Ph.D degree in Material Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA in 1993.

Its products are used in high speed rail, new energy vehicles, energy-saving industry, etc. The company serves integrated device manufacturers and fabless semiconductor companies. The company was formerly known as Shanghai Philips Semiconductor and changed its name to Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation Limited in 1995.
