Roadside Real Estate Insiders May Regret Not Buying More, Market Cap Hits UK£100m
Insiders who bought Roadside Real Estate plc (LON:ROAD) stock in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The company's market value increased by UK£9.3m as a result of the stock's 10% gain over the same period. In other words, the original UK£330.7k purchase is now worth UK£718.2k.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.
Roadside Real Estate Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when CEO & Executive Director Charles Dickson bought UK£331k worth of shares at a price of UK£0.32 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of UK£0.69. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

Insider Ownership
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Roadside Real Estate insiders own 72% of the company, currently worth about UK£72m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
