We'd be surprised if Accsys Technologies PLC (LON:AXS) shareholders haven't noticed that the CEO & Director, Jelena Arsic Os, recently sold UK£167k worth of stock at UK£0.61 per share. That sale was 43% of their holding, so it does make us raise an eyebrow.

Accsys Technologies Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Jelena Arsic Os was the biggest sale of Accsys Technologies shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of UK£0.61. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).

Over the last year we saw more insider selling of Accsys Technologies shares, than buying. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Our data isn't picking up on much insider ownership at Accsys Technologies, though insiders do hold about UK£465k worth of shares. We do note, however, it is possible insiders have an indirect interest through a private company or other corporate structure. We might be missing something but that seems like very low insider ownership.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Accsys Technologies Insiders?

Insiders haven't bought Accsys Technologies stock in the last three months, but there was some selling. Zooming out, the longer term picture doesn't give us much comfort. When you consider that most companies have higher levels of insider ownership, we're a little wary. So we're not rushing to buy, to say the least. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing.
