Biography

Floridienne S.A., through its subsidiaries, operates in the chemicals, life sciences, and gourmet food sectors in Belgium. The company’s Chemical division offers plastic additives used for stabilizing PVC and fireproofing plastics; and recycles nickel/cadmium, nickel metal hydride, and lithium-ion batteries, as well as zinc salts for galvanization. This division is also involved in the formulation and production of lead-based stabilizers and calcium/zinc-based and organic stabilizers. Its Life Sciences division produces and markets technologies and natural products for agriculture, para pharmaceuticals, agri-foodstuffs, cosmetics, and health care, as well as provides plant proteases and integrated pest management. This division also invests in solutions primarily in chemical communications through receptors associated with taste and olfaction in humans and insects. The company’s Gourmet Food division produces and markets party and gourmet food products, such as snails, scallops, stuffed shellfish, smoked salmon, seafood salads, aperitif snacks, ethnic dishes, and cold and warm sauces. This division also operates in the field of special-needs foods for people with deglutition problems or suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Floridienne S.A. was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Waterloo, Belgium.
