He began his career in law at Honeywell in 1985 as Counsel for the Avionics Division. He served at Amoco Production, Cities Service and Santa Fe Energy. Mr. Hoops has been a Director of Kestrel Energy Inc., since June 1, 1992. He has been an Executive Director at Strata-X Energy Ltd. since September 22, 2011. He served as Nominee Director of Ozcapital Ventures Inc. He served as a Director of Kestrel Energy California Inc from March 1997 to May 2000. He served as a Non Executive Director of Senex Energy Ltd. until March 2008. Mr. Hoops served as a Director of Victoria Exploration Inc. since 1987, Victoria International Petroleum N.L. since 1987. He serves as a Member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Member of Rocky Mountain Association of Petroleum Geologists. Mr. Hoops is a 1979 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, with a Degree in Geology and Geological Engineering. Mr. Hoops holds a private pilot certificate and is an active general aviation pilot.
